Stilt parking or ground floor: how many cars fit?
On most Hyderabad plots you choose between a stilt (an open parking floor with homes above) and a ground-floor home with a car porch. The right choice depends on your plot size, how many cars you have and what the rules expect.
How the planner sizes parking
- Car bay: about 9.5 × 17 ft (about 162 sq ft) per car.
- Stilt: cars park in rows under the building; a 30 ft wide stilt takes about three cars side by side.
- Ground floor (G): the planner carves a car porch out of the front of the ground floor, so you can see the space it takes from the home.
